Dissin (Part 2)

Speaking of 50 and disses, I hear Mr. Curtis Jackson dissed Nas again recently. Sorry, I don't have the information of the song, but this is what I am hearing. I believe it's ironic that 50 stresses how much he may quit and this next album may be his last, yet he creates so much controversy on his so called "last year in the game" From dissin Wayne, to removing Young Buck from G-Unit, and now this. I don't know what to think of this guy anymore. I mean he's not dumb but it's like, what more does he want out of the game?

Did Wayne Diss 50?

We all remember back a while ago when 50 Cent Dissed Lil Wayne about him kissin Birdman and all dat. Well someone uncovered a verse on one of Wayne's 12 million songs where he says "All about a dollar, F**k 2 quarters B*tch, I pour syrup in that Vitamin WaterI hope you die ugly, and tonight gonna be gorgeous". Though it hasn't been widely noticed or recognized as a diss to 50, the words are reassuring to me that in this song, Lil Wayne definitely takes a shot at him, hence the reference to 2 quarters and vitamin water. I wonder if Mr. Curtis has heard these lines. And if so, will he retaliate? I mean I know its a little late but a diss is a diss right?

Violence At Webbie Show

Violence broke out after a Webbie show in Thibodaux, LA where someone fired gunshots into a car and hit a 20 year old woman in the head twice, who was in the car with her boyfriend. At a later show, in Boca Raton, FL, a man was stabbed in the club Webbie was performing in. The woman survived the bullets but is still severely injured. No word on how the man stabbed turned out. I wonder what could drive Webbie fans so crazy. Maybe it has nothing to do with the fact that Webbie was performing at both of these incidents. I mean, these things do happen at plenty of concerts.

Lyfe Jennings Arrested

Sunday, October 19, Police in Smyrna, GA ponded to a report of gunshots in the area. When they arrived, they ran into a Red Corvette fleeing the scene which turned out to belong to R&B singer Chester "Lyfe" Jennings. We all know Jennings had been locked up before (10 years for felony arson charges). Apparently, statements were released that the gunshots came about from a "domestic dispute". Jennings lead the cops on a chase and later crashed. Unharmed, he was charged with "criminal trespass, discharging a firearm near a public highway, and DUI-refusal". However, he was later released on a $55,200 bond.

"Swing Ya Rag" Video Banned

Everyone knows of T.I.'s hot single off Paper Trail, "Swing Ya Rag" however, the choice of swinging rags might not have been the best ideo for a video. T.I. shot the video for the hit single but it was banned and stopped from being released because of lawsuits for copyright infringement filed by Gucci and Louis Vuitton. In the video, T.I. is seen swinging both rags around. The belief is that the idea of "swinging ya rag" may imply gang affiliation in some way that Gucci and Louis Vuitton want no parts of. So for all my T.I. fans, I know we would have looked foreward to the video, but it doesnt seem like we will get to see it.

Kanye & 50 Goin At It Again?

We all remember this past year's big controversy of release dates between rappers Kanye West and 50 Cent. Rumors were surfacing of a possible deja vu this year as both artist's albums were set for release in December. Don't get excited yet though. Kanye West stated a couple days ago in his own blog that he shifted his release date to November. Sorry for everyone who wanted to see 50 get crushed in album sales again but that was a one time thing. Kanye's explanation in the blog for the decision is that he just wants people to hear his music sooner. Oh well, you can still look for Kanye's album, 808's and Heartbreak in November (no date yet) and 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct on December 9th.

Left Eye New Album to Drop Soon?

What started as just rumors are seeming to become more true about the late, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez coming out with a new album possibly this year. I have yet to hear many people's opinion about this. I think its a great thing, but I never pictured it actually happening. Hopefully the new album will do justice to the late hip hop diva. some rumored features include talk of Tupac Shakur, Lil Mama, Chamillionaire, Missy Elliott, TLC, Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men, Free, Bobby Valentino, and Left Eye's sister, Reigndrop Lopes to be on the album. What I want to know is if it will showcase the same recycled lyrics from the past, or will it reveal new material recorded but not released until now. And if the album does come out, what are the chances of Aaliyah coming out with another album? No one knows as of now, but it would be great to hear something new from the angelic voices taken too soon.
